Call (262) 829-5961Mon to Fri, 7am to 5pmWho is behind Brookfield Softener Co.
Brookfield Softener Co. is the trade name; the business behind it is ZeroGrain Water LLC, a Wisconsin company.
The City of Brookfield, its water utility and Sanitary District No. 4 have no hand in it. Their figures and guidance are quoted here because they are the published record of Brookfield’s water.
What we do, and what the licensed plumber does
We quote by phone, work out the softener’s size from the water the house gets and the people who live there, supply the system and arrange the installation. The equipment is one package for every address: a whole-home softener, its brine tank, and a reverse-osmosis faucet for drinking water at the kitchen sink that is never sold on its own.
A state-licensed Wisconsin plumbing contractor does the installation, because Wisconsin’s plumbing law, Wis. Stat. ch. 145, covers the softener’s drain connection. Nobody comes to your house to sell; the price is given during the call.
Why Brookfield gets its own site
Brookfield’s water is unusual for the area. The city stayed on its own wells while several neighbors moved to Lake Michigan water, it publishes 23 to 34 grains, and its chloride guidance wants softeners set to 23 grains and run on demand-initiated control rather than a timer.
The Town of Brookfield adds a second system with its own figure, and calls also come from Elm Grove, Pewaukee, Menomonee Falls and New Berlin. Each address deserves the figure that actually belongs to it, and a site built for Brookfield can keep those straight.
Common questions
Does Brookfield Softener Co. supply timer softeners?
No. All of them are demand-initiated, which is what the city’s chloride guidance asks for in place of a timer.
